Tipping is optional and appreciated, not mandatory. For a full jeep safari, many guests tip the tracker/driver in cash (LKR or major foreign currency notes in good condition) if service was strong.
Village hosts and kitchen experiences are often covered by what we pay locally; an extra thank-you for exceptional hospitality is welcome but never expected.
Hotels & cafés
Some hotels add a service charge — check the bill. In cafés without service charge, rounding up or a small tip is a kind gesture. We will never scold you for not tipping; we will never pad invoices with hidden “forced gratuities.”
